By accessing and using Periodwise (periodwise.org), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the site.

Periodwise is operated from Ontario, Canada. These terms apply to every visitor, wherever you are in the world.

Periodwise provides educational content about menstrual health, period pain, and relief options, along with interactive tools: quizzes that build a personalised shortlist to discuss with a doctor, a pain and relief plan builder, and Sarah, an AI chat companion. Everything on the site is free to use and does not require an account.

Periodwise is educational content, not medical care. Nothing on this site — including articles, quiz results, the pain and relief plan, and conversations with Sarah — is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment recommendation. Using the site does not create a doctor–patient relationship.

Our tools exist to help you understand your options and have a more informed conversation with a doctor or healthcare provider. Always consult a qualified clinician before starting, stopping, or changing any medication, birth control method, supplement (including over-the-counter (OTC) options), or treatment.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not rely on this site in an emergency.

Sarah is an AI chat companion. Her replies are generated by a large language model and may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. Sarah cannot diagnose you, cannot see your medical history, and is not a substitute for a clinician.

Treat anything Sarah says as a starting point for a conversation with a real healthcare provider, not as a conclusion. If Sarah suggests seeking urgent care, take that seriously — but never wait for a chatbot's permission to get help you feel you need.

Our quizzes and the pain and relief plan rank options using published evidence and the answers you give. They are decision aids, not prescriptions: they cannot account for your full medical history, and a result being ranked highly for you does not mean it is safe or right for you. Bring your results to a doctor or healthcare provider, who can assess the full picture.

When using Periodwise, you agree not to:

• Use the site in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations;
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure;
• Use Sarah or any other feature to generate abusive, harassing, or unlawful content;
• Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download site content or use it to train machine-learning models without our written permission;
• Misrepresent site content as professional medical advice.

The Periodwise name, logo, illustrations, articles, quizzes, and all other content on the site are owned by Periodwise or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may share links to our pages and use the content for personal, non-commercial purposes. Any other reproduction or distribution requires our written permission.

Some product links on Periodwise are affiliate links, including links to Amazon through the Amazon Associates program. If you buy something through one of these links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never influence what we recommend — recommendations are based on the evidence.

Linked third-party sites are not operated by us. We are not responsible for their content, products, or policies, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.

How we collect and handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Periodwise is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We work hard to keep content accurate and current, but we do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content — including AI-generated content — is complete, accurate, or suitable for your situation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Periodwise and the people who build it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the site, or for decisions you make based on its content. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Periodwise is written to be useful from the first period onward, but you must be at least 13 years old to use the site. If you are under the age of majority where you live, we encourage you to involve a parent, guardian, or trusted adult in any health decisions.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
